Urban Roots

HEALTHIER, GREENER COMMUNITIES

WHO WE ARE

Urban Roots is a community led environmental charity.

We grew from small beginnings in 2004, when three local residents set up ‘Toryglen Gardening Club’ to improve their neighbourhood and address environmental concerns.

Our team has since expanded to develop further food growing spaces and to run a wide range of activities in communities across the Southside of Glasgow.

WHAT WE DO

We deliver a range of activities, including food growing, conservation and biodiversity work, and promoting healthier eating. We work with local people to improve the environment and health of communities.

We work with all ages and abilities in schools, community spaces, gardens and woodlands across the Southside of Glasgow - making time to connect with people, build relationships and celebrate the seasons.

People are inspired to connect with nature and take practical action that makes a positive difference to their own lives, their communities and the planet.
